Digital Things I’ve Been Wrong About My brother commented that push technology like PointCast may not have caught on, but it’s what most of us do electively with RSS now. My favorite misstep for Wired was the putting Rocket Science Games on the cover in 1994; they made FMV rail shooters.
Wired deserves the credit for saying that RSS does basically the same thing as push. They ran sort of an apology article.
I remember playing the demo of “Lodestar: the Legend of Tully Bodine” (wow, I remembered that) and thinking, “Am I missing something? In Doom I can run anywhere and shoot anywhere, why would I ever play this?”
