Today was CK’s last shift. He’ll be around till March, approximately a year since hiring me. I’ve had a lot of fun working with him and discovering that he’s not the pompous ass he always pretended to be.
CES and AEE were exhausting. I hung out in the Engadget warroom most of the week. I should have a couple write ups on my experiences in future.
This week I’ve been rewatching Futurama with the audio commentary on. It’s on every single episode. It points out some of the nerdier jokes and gives insight into the development process. Ken Keeler also teaches you that the word underpants is 20% funnier than the word underwear. Really great stuff.
The Saturday I flew back here from Nebraska my sister flew out in the morning and my dad and I went to motorcycle dealerships in Omaha till I had to leave. We went to Ducati, BMW, Husqvarna, and Triumph. My favorite bike was the Husqvarna SM610. It was also nice to find out that the Triumph Speed Triple fits me just fine.
Last Monday I met up with the people from 702sportbikes. I wore two pairs of pants since it was 38 degF. I was going to ride Valley of Fire with them today, but two straight days of minimal sleep and weather in the low 40s made it seem like a bad idea. I figure in a month it’ll be in the 50s and we’ll be headed back there anyway.
I installed OSX on the box I originally built as an HTPC. I haven’t patched it yet so I don’t have lan, video, or sound yet. I plan on attaching the two 24″ monitors to it.
You should move to the Denver area within the next 5 years. I’m just saying it’ll be fun.
