Thanks to Stella at Blogcadre for finding this second clip. She’s got the date as 1987, but that Gateway seems to have a CDROM drive which makes it superior to the top of the line 486 SX/2 we bought in 1992.
… just got a little more cramped and a whole lot more fun with the addition of a Buell XB9SX “CityX”. I promise I’ll stay safe. Luckily it is pretty easy to ride the bike like a sane person. Lots of low end torque keep you from having to rev it through the roof. I’ve got a few pics on Flickr, but I just got the thing today so not many.
One of the many questions I got asked this weekend was why the hell I still live in the sticks. It’s not necessarily an insensitive question; I could live anywhere with my current job. After I got the job I moved back to Lincoln, happy to be off Frosty’s couch (thanks bud). I still have friends in Lincoln and figured I could hang out for at least another year before I decided where to go. Continue reading
Fabienne and I got out of the office Friday afternoon. It had only been 36 hours since launch, but it felt like three solid days. We went to the Guggenheim for the exhibit on Iraq born architect Zaha Hadid. They also had an interesting Jackson Pollock exhibit that had a good sampling of each period. We then jumped up the street for the Cooper-Hewitt National Design Museum. They had an exhibit on tableware design and another featuring American landscape painters. We wandered through central park on the way back. It was a good day.
The new Netscape.com has just launched. Check out the open beta. In two weeks it will replace the the front page. The coverage is really freakin’ HUGE: New York Times, AP, Reuters, CNet, TechCrunch, BetaNews, PaidContent, RedHerring, DownloadSquad, InformationWeek. THAT WAS ALL IN THE FIRST HOUR!
I got into NYC yesterday to work on a new project. I’ve been trying to get into the habit of taking pictures, but somehow I haven’t gotten any photos outside of my adorably hip hotel room at Club Quarters. I’ll continue adding photos to the set on Flickr as the week progresses. It’s been pretty cool so far and I’ve gotten out a lot more than the last time I was here. The hotel is right next to our office in Rockefeller Center and you can see Radio City Music Hall out my window. I went to Gramercy Tavern last night for supper (saw Laura Linney) and the Blue Bar for drinks tonight.
[UPDATE: here’s the group photo tag]
I’ve gotten several compliments from coworkers since changing my buddy icon last night. I guess I’m not alone in this feeling.
